From South Florida to Kansas: Doral West Reaches the National Semifinals

What began as a state-level challenge became one of the most important journeys in Doral West Soccer Academy history. Match by match, the team earned the right to move forward—from Florida, through the Southern Region and onto the national stage in Kansas.

The road demanded much more than talent. The players had to respond to elimination matches, unfamiliar opponents, travel and the pressure that comes with representing their club and community. Every round required discipline, courage and trust in one another.

The first breakthrough came in Florida, where Doral West won the Florida Presidents Cup and became state champions. That title qualified the team to represent Florida at the Southern Presidents Cup, where another demanding tournament awaited.

At regionals, the group continued its run against accomplished teams from across the South. Doral West rose to the occasion, won the Southern Regional championship and secured a place among the best Presidents Cup teams in the country.

The final destination was the US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup in Kansas. Wearing the Doral West badge on a national stage, the team competed with belief and advanced to the national semifinals—an extraordinary finish to a journey that began at home in South Florida.

Reaching the semifinals was not the work of one weekend. It was the result of months of preparation, sacrifice from families, guidance from coaches and players who kept choosing the team in difficult moments. The trophy moments mattered, but the resilience developed along the way will remain with this group far longer.

This run showed every younger Doral West player what is possible: start with the next training session, compete for the person beside you and keep earning the opportunity in front of you. From state champions to regional champions and national semifinalists, this team made club history together.
